Beauty review: Essence lipstick in fuchsia pink color

I have practically never done review post on beauty products on my blog as they are a bit out of my comfort zone, but I am definitely challenging myself, therefore, I’ll try to review some more beauty products that I have or buy! I am not very sure of how much people are interested in reading beauty reviews, but I, personally, always love finding out new brands/products or read reviews on products I am planning to buy!

Anyways, today I am reviewing an Essence lipstick which is called Colour Crush (08). I was instantly drawn to this lipstick as I am searching for great fuchsia pink tone lipsticks to wear on my lips this summer. This lipstick was bought at my local drugstore (my blog’s Latvian readers, will probably know- Drogas). I don’t remember the exact price, but I believe it cost around 2-3 euros, which I think is very affordable ( and as I am a student I am always on a tight budget & sadly cannot afford all the fancy makeup! :/). This is the first time I have bought anything from brand Essence, I didn’t even know much about it before, but I am definitely very keen on trying new beauty products and in my mind I scored with this one.
  • I like the fact that the lipstick has a matte finish as I am not really keen on having a glossy or shiny lips
  • It has a really nice scent- reminds me of wild summer berries
  • It is very easy to apply and it lasts for a long time, but sometimes it tends to dry up my lips, so I need to reapply it, or usually I very minimally, with my fingers tips, apply a bit of lip balm
  • The design of the lipstick ( I love the e letter on it) and the packaging are very cute
  • There was a wide variety of different colors, therefore, I might go back and buy couple of other shades as well!

& here is how the lipstick looks on me!
Do you like reading beauty product reviews? Should I post more of them?
I really need your advice! On Monday I am going to my hairstylist and I have no clue what to do with my hair. My hair has remained untouched for a year right now- in the last picture you can see my real hair color on the roots. I have always gone with having highlights as I love having light blonde hair color rather than my original dark blonde color. Should go for the highlights? Or do something else?
I think I will cut the split ends and leave my hair in the current length, or, maybe, should I change something up a bit as I have had this hair length for probably 3 years already!? Any advice? I am so clueless!
~With love~

Cheers for this review Maddie! I'm not so into pink lippies but that one looks gorgeous! I love lipsticks with matte finish too. It look pretty on you, I guess it complements to your beautiful blond hair.
I'm excited to see what your hair will look like 😉 I'm sure it will be beautiful as it is <3

I have seen many beauty youtubers talking about this brand and I tried their mascaras. I think there isn't better mascaras and especially for that price.I can tell you now that there is no needed to spend money on high end brand mascaras, because they dry so quickly, it's better to save up for something else. The hot pink looks fabulous on you. I never have tried their lipsticks, but I have to admit I love Catrice lipstics. They're great and not expensive at all.
I think you should do what you want with your hair, because at the end of the day you have them. Go for what you have in mind.
    Hope you're having wonderful week.

This is such a pretty shade and it's not too overwhelming either!

oh, that lipstick is simply amazing, that color looks really good. I also love the way it looks on you. I'm reading some of beauty posts of my fellow bloggers, such reviews are really useful, seriously.
By the way, I have no idea what to advice about your hairstyle, because I'm right in same situation now. On the contrary I'm fed up of dying my hair, but I have no idea how to make it right and return my natural color, you know it's really hard to do and there is a chance to lost all my hair. So I think it's better to keep your own color, which nature gives you, in this case your hair will be more healthy and silky. Anyhow, I hope you will be satisfied with your choice:)
    Have a fabulous time!

Hi Maddie! Im glad you started to do beauty reviews as being a huge make up junkie I always enjoy other's thoughts and experience when it comes to make up! And believe me, you did a great choice with this lipstick! Besides the fact I usually love Essence stuff (great quality and very cheap), I have 2 shades from this line and totally love them (one is the nude and the other a bold red). The hue you picked suits u and u look really pretty! Btw, as the hairstyle, go for a lighter tone! And dont cut, you are just too adorable with this lenght! Kisses lovely!:*

Essence is the most amazing brand if you ask me my dear Maddie! I ♥ the quality of there products and whenever I tried something of their make up I sticked to it! Just got the similar shade of lipstick the other day…loving it!
This shade looks great on you and you'll see that will become one of your favorites for this summer 🙂

When it comes to your hair, you are such a beautiful girl that whatever you do…it will lool hreat! Just remain blonde :)))

I am not familiar with this brand, but this color is beautiful on you!

As for your hair, I am all for taking a risk— but if you want to keep the length you could always try bangs!

What a beautiful shade on you – it's perfect for summer! With regards to your hair, I wouldn't touch the length as in my opinion.. the longer the better! 🙂

Hello dearest Maddie, I think your original hair colour would also look wonderful on you. And what are you thinking about bangs? Thanks for the review, now I must find out if this lipstick is available in Germany because I like the colour really as it has the perfect pink for me 🙂

Wish you a happy start into the weekend and the decision which makes you happy regarding your new hair-cut <3

Oh, we have Essence too! I personally like their "care" products (nail files, gel pads for shoes…), but for the make-up, I find only eyeshadows OK. I've had 2 lipsticks and though they go on smoothly, I don't like the finish. It's not really glossy glossy, but it somehow feels not right. I prefer other brands – from European ones, I like YSL, but it's really expensive for a lipstick, I got both of mine as gifts, but when it comes to Korean lipsticks, even those that are around 4 or 5 Euros are extremely nice! The colour of yours is very pretty, and it really suits you.

For your hair, it seems like it's a quite soft (like baby hair?) – I would cut off the split ends, maybe even more (5 cm or so), if your hair is not damaged you can highlight again, and maybe cut some of the hair framing your face shorter? If you want to be really bold you could try side-swept bangs or something like that. 🙂 Though it mainly depends on you, these are just ideas. 🙂

The shade looks lovely on you! It goes so well with your hair and skin color 😀 Never really tried Essence products since they tend to be quite expensive in my country 🙁 But the color looks really rich! 🙂 Hmm, maybe you can go for the ombre look with your hair? Like, dark blonde roots but light blonde tips? And you can try getting messy layers. It's up to you if you wanna keep your hair length and just add layers, or you can cut your hair short till about below your shoulders and have layers 😛 Good luck!
