As I already mentioned in my Midsummer post, in last holiday weekend me and my cousin Anita got the chance to organize a little photo shoot at my grandparent’s countryside near city Ventspils.

What is interesting, is the fact that I think that me and my cousin have something similar to a telepathic connection since we arrived at the countryside dressed really similarly and also, even though, we talked about having a mini photo shoot nothing direct was said ( as in what clothes to take with us), therefore, it was a big surprise when we ended up wearing very similar floral print dresses ( the only difference is basically in the back detailing of the dress)!
We, ourselves picked the meadow flowers and we also made the flower wreaths ( crowns) you can see in the pictures! Over these holidays I have really learned to appreciate the tradition of making these flower wreaths as overall I made three of them! And I definitely enjoyed the process!
I hope you’ll enjoy these pictures and soon you’ll be able to too see the second part of our photo session at countryside as I still have some before pictures to show you that were taken in the golden hour before the sunset!
Ceru, ka Jums patiks bildes un vēl tuvākajā laikā gaidiet bildes no lauku foto sesijas, kuras uzņēmām skaistajā zelta stundā tieši pirms saules rieta!

Hi May! Thank you very much for the kind words and compliments! 🙂
And I agree, taking pictures together with a same minded individual is a lot of fun!
Yes, we made them ourselves, which makes the photo shoot a bit more special as we did put effort in it! 🙂

That was an awesome idea to take some photographs with your cousin, Maddie, you look like nymphs there among those flowers and meadow grass. Speechless admiration, nothing less.
May your summer be full of love and only positive emotions, like what we see on these marvelous photographs.
Can't wait to see the second part of your photo session, it must be wonderful!

I am so, so happy to hear that Ivana! Me and my cousin did try and wanted to create beautiful storyline of pictures about the beauty of Latvian meadows and traditions ( for example, the flower wreaths!)!

  9. July 3, 2015 / 15:59

Amazing photos <3 You both are so pretty and the floral crowns look cute <3

  10. July 3, 2015 / 17:00

That's so funny – you guys really do look like you planned to match! It worked out perfectly. Beautiful shoot and gorgeous photos, I love the flower crowns. So summery!

    • July 8, 2015 / 10:32

Haha, I know right? I will blame it on the fact that we are related and have a really cool yet strange connection! 😀
Thank you for your lovely compliments and comment! You are so sweet!

  11. July 3, 2015 / 22:09

The photos are absolutely beautiful! I love the flower crowns you made too, they look so complex compared to those I used to make as a kid, haha. You both look sooooo lovely in the flower dresses with the wreaths. <3

    • July 8, 2015 / 10:34

The making of those flower wreaths is definitely not complex- easy would be the word that I would use as you only need flowers, thread and scissors! It only takes 20-30 minutes!
And thank you very much for the kind words! 🙂

  12. July 5, 2015 / 17:12

This is such a cute shooting and the pictures look super lovely! It must be great fun to stand in front of the camera together with a friend 🙂

    • July 8, 2015 / 10:34

She is actually my cousin which just doubled the fun! Thank you for your comment Carmen! 🙂

Great shots! Some tips – if you are shooting moving objects, and do not want to get blurry photos, choose TV mode (S) – shutter priority. Expose the shutter speed (shutter speed) 1/125 or 1/400 of a second and let the camera select the aperture automatically. For image processing, you can choose the software that suits you at the price and quality
