On the last weekend I had a really lovely opportunity to attend one of my best friends wedding, therefore, today I wanted to showcase the makeup that I did on that day. I knew that on the wedding day I wouldn’t have enough time to take pictures of my makeup (as the bride was getting ready at my place/my beauty room) and similarly to the bride I tried my makeup several days before the big day 😊 The only difference between my looks was the fact that on the wedding day I curled my hair and wore different falsies that were less dramatic and more subtle (NYX Wicked Lashes Tease)
Pagājušajā nedēļas nogalē piedalījos ļoti skaistā notikumā – savas draudzenes kāzās 😊, tāpēc šodien vēlējos jums parādīt savu meikapu šajā īpašajā dienā. Tā kā zināju, ka īstajā kāzu dienā man nebūs laika safotografēt beauty bildes (jo līgaviņa savam lielajam iznācienam gatavojās manās mājās – beauty istabā), tad līdzīgi kā līgava, savu meikapu izmēģināju jau dažas dienas pirms kāzām 😊 Vienīgā atšķirība bija manos matos, jo tos ieveidoju ar lokšķērēm, kā arī izmantoju citas skropstiņas, nedaudz mazāk dramatiskas un neuzkrītošākas (NYX Wicked Lashes Tease).
On your friend’s, relatives, acquaintance’s wedding day pay the most attention to your skin, because usually weddings are long events and usually happen in summer when the weather varies from hot to humid and rainy. Therefore, in order to make sure that your makeup lasts throughout the whole day use a good base (primer and/or day cream) and choose wisely your foundation. As I have oily skin I chose to use my favorite day cream (L’Occitane Peony Perfecting Cream) that I know for sure doesn’t oil up my skin and just moisturizes it throughout the day. Afterward I used a mattifying primer – my favorite for the case is the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer. When I was done with those two steps, I applied my favorite matte liquid foundation – L’Oreal Infallible 24h-Matte.
As my skin was super matte, I needed to freshen it up a bit with bronzer and highlighter. I used the Catrice Sun Glow bronzer and a mixture of Sleek Solstice peachy shade and Becca X Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop Pressed Powder highlighter on top of my cheekbones.
And, of course, to make sure my face was bulletproof I used the Mac Fix+ to lock everything in.
As the most important person in the wedding is the bride (hehe, also the groom 😊) then I would suggest to leave dramatic smokey eyes for another event, just to make sure that you are not stealing attention away from the bride. In your eye makeup choose light and airy tones that suit your outfit.
As I was wearing a pink midi dress, I decided to play with pink tones in my eye makeup as well. I added a little pop of glitter with ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in shade Birthday Cake.
You can make your eyes pop even more with an eye liner, mascara and even falsies. When else are you going yo wear them, right? If you decide to go for falsies, my suggestion would be to try them on the day before as that way you’ll find the best, easiest way to apply them and if needed – to trim them to fit the shape and width of your eyes.
And, of course, don’t forget to wear that waterproof mascara 😊
Put down that red lipstick 😊 and similarly to the eye shadows, choose a lipstick in soft and maybe even neutral shades. Also similarly to the skin, you also need to prepare your lips. Before you apply your favorite lipstick, don’t forget to apply lip balm underneath as that way you will not only moisturize your lips throughout the day, but also make the lipstick glide on.
In order for my lips to match my eyes, I mixed the ColourPop Ultra Satin finish lipstick in shade Chandelier with the matte lipstick Fresh Cut. My lipstick lasted all day ideally!
